April manufacturing data suggests China isn\u2019t out of the woods yet: <\/span>China\u2019s <\/span>manufacturing activity unexpectedly contracted in April for the first time since December, <\/span>Bloomberg<\/a><\/span>reports, citing <\/span>official data<\/span>. The country\u2019s manufacturing purchasing managers\u2019 index (PMI) dropped to 49.2 in April \u2014 below the 50.0 mark that separates growth from contraction \u2014 from 51.9 a month before. \u201cThis is a mixed PMI report and suggests that China\u2019s post-covid recovery has somewhat lost steam and calls for continued policy support,\u201d said one economist.<\/span><\/p>\n
