El Sisi took suhoor with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman this morning. <\/span><span>Ala Mas\u2019ouleety (<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=M4oUs1-KctU\" style=\"\">watch, runtime: 5:34<\/a><\/span><span>) and El Hekaya (<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=243806644768117\" style=\"\">watch, runtime: 0:52<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">) had the news, without providing any further details. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Savers have already poured some EGP 19 bn into Banque Misr\u2019s new high-interest certificates of deposit (CDs)<\/span><span>, bank chairman Mohamed El Etreby told El Hekaya (<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Olp4kDJ6nIM\" style=\"\">watch, runtime: 15:21<\/a><\/span><span>). Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt introduced the three-year CDs \u2014 one fixed at 19% and the other declining each year from an initial 22% \u2014 in response to the central bank\u2019s 200 basis-point rate hike last week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Declining-rate certificates reflect optimism on inflation: <\/span><span>\u201cWe introduced the declining-rate certificates because we are expecting inflation to slow down and start declining,\u201d El Etreby said, drawing a comparison with 2016, when soaring inflation was brought down thanks to rate hikes.
