Twelve-month non-deliverable forwards (NDFs) jumped to <\/span><span>a record 40 yesterday, according to <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlArabiya_Bn\/status\/1637786239397969920?s=20\" style=\"\">Al Arabiya<\/a><\/span><span>, <\/span><span>suggesting that the currency will fall around another 30% over the next 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Officially, the EGP remains unchanged: <\/span><span style=\"\">The official EGP-USD rate hasn\u2019t changed since 12 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">March, remaining priced at 30.96.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">PSA- The EGX is out with its Ramadan working hours:<\/span><span> The EGX <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2023\/3\/EGX-Ramadan-Working-hours.png\" style=\"\">will move<\/a><\/span><span> to its traditional Ramadan working hours on Thursday, which will see trading begin at 10 am and end at 1:30 pm on  the main market. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700;\">HAPPENING TODAY-<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"\"> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\"><a id=\"wwtt1\"><\/a> <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">The Fed begins <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">today <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">one of its most important policy meetings in recent <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">years:<\/span><span> The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Federal Reserve will begin its two-day policy meeting today to decide what to do with interest rates. The central bank is between a rock and a hard place, faced with still uncomfortably high inflation on the one hand, and a simmering banking crisis \u2014 triggered by the rapid pace of policy tightening over the past 12 months \u2014 on the other.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What will policymakers do? No-one really knows.<\/span><span style=\"\"> Expectations for the meeting have <\/span><span>oscillated between a larger 50-bps hike prior to the banking tremors to a small rate cut at the height of the market panic last week. UBS\u2019s emergency takeover of Credit Suisse over the weekend has so far helped to calm market nerves, giving the Fed space to maintain credibility in its inflation fight and raise rates by 25 bps.
