Instead, the restaurant\u2019s owner, Somaya Al-Asyoty, plans select dishes each day, depending on what she sees at the market and inspires her. Eating at Fasahet Somaya is like having a home cooked meal \u2014 traditional Egyptian dishes like molokhiya, tiny buttery quail, and stuffed vegetables are often on offer. At other times, Somaya experiments and surprises guests with new dishes like slow-cooked lamb with chocolate. And she keeps an eye on each table to see how they enjoy their feast. The atmosphere at Fasahet Somaya is home-y and the food is filling.
