The two companies are part of the list of <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2023\/02\/09\/rebooted-privatization-program-to-see-stakes-in-32-companies-sold-to-strategics-public-investors-96067\/\" style=\"\">32 state-owned companies<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> in which the Madbouly government plans to sell stakes over the next year. Further information about the potential transactions wasn\u2019t disclosed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Any suitors in sight? <\/span><span>\u201cThe<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> two real estate players have received several offers in the past but the companies are currently re-evaluating the financial valuation of their assets and conducting a revised internal fair-value study,\u201d our source said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What\u2019s next?<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> The Holding Company for Construction and Development (HCCD) \u2014 the parent company of El Nasr Housing and Maadi for Development \u2014 is currently working on hiring advisors on the potential transaction, said the source, adding that making public share offerings in the two companies will come at a later stage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">REFRESHER-<\/span><span> The government plans to sell stakes in 32 state-owned companies over the next year under a rebooted privatization program designed to pull the country out of its financial crisis and secure much needed FX. The state will offer shares to strategic investors, via offerings on the EGX and a mix of both over the next 12 months.
