A mainstay of 20th-century theater by Irish playwright Samuel Becket, Waiting for Godot spins out conversations in a limbo-like dreamscape between two bedraggled men who wait endlessly for an elusive person \u2014 or thing, perhaps \u2014 named Godot to show up. The setting bears nothing but a leafless tree, and empty conversations are interspersed only sparingly with somber reflection.
