It was a light night on the airwave, wrapping up an econ-heavy week. <\/span>The nation\u2019s talking heads had coverage of the latest meat to hit the Egyptian market and our growing fertilizer production. <\/span><\/p>\n

Forget <\/span>Brazilian meat<\/a><\/span>, we now have Chadian meat:<\/span> All the talk shows were raving about <\/span>plans to import meat from Chad. Ala Mas\u2019ouleety (<\/span>watch, runtime: 3:02<\/a><\/span>), Al Hayah Al Youm (<\/span>watch, runtime: 3:07<\/a><\/span>) and Masa\u2019a DMC (<\/span>watch, runtime: 5:47<\/a><\/span>) all had coverage.<\/span><\/p>\n

A new fertilizer complex got a lot of attention:<\/span>President Abdel Fattah El Sisi <\/span>inaugurated<\/a><\/span>yesterday<\/a><\/span> a new nitrogenous fertilizer complex in Ain Sokhna. The complex currently includes <\/span>six fertilizer factories<\/a><\/span> with an annual production capacity of 1.7 mn tons, and was constructed by German industrial engineering company <\/span>Thyssenkrupp<\/a><\/span> and local contractor Petrojet. <\/span>This is a major jump, Masa\u2019a DMC\u2019s Ramy Radwan says (<\/span>watch, runtime: 5:25<\/a><\/span>), drawing comparison to 2015 when the nation\u2019s fertilizer production sat at a mere 220k tons a year. <\/span><\/p>\n
