The companies will operate and maintain the terminals for 30 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">The two terminals will a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">lmost triple the two po<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">rts\u2019 combined capacity:<\/span><span> The Sokhna terminal will add 3.5 mn TEU in annual capacity while capacity at Dekheila terminal will increase by 1.5 mn TEU. Sokna currently ha<\/span><span>s a 1.75 mn TEU capacit<\/span><span>y while Dekhe<\/span><span>ila has 1 mn TEU<\/span><span>. <\/span><span>The new terminals will also create some 2k direct and indirect jobs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Months in the making: <\/span><span>The companies <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/08\/14\/foreign-companies-could-invest-usd-1-3-bn-in-egypts-ports-77816\/\" style=\"\">inked the initial agreements<\/a><\/span><span> for the projects last August.
