Staying true to the punchy comedy for which the Shrek franchise is known and loved, the film has <\/span>garnered praise<\/a><\/span> from fans of the franchise and appealed to the nostalgic millennials among us. <\/span><\/p>\n

The film revolves around Puss \u2014 who\u2019s voiced by Antonio Banderas \u2014 and his <\/span>confrontation with mortality as he now faces his ninth \u2014 and final \u2014 life.<\/span> He goes on an adventure seeking out the \u201cwishing star,\u201d which would restore his nine lives, and meets some memorable characters along the way, including his love interest Kitty Softpaws (played by Salma Hayek) and an emotional support puppy, both of which help drive the core message of the film: that life is short, and our mortality is what makes it meaningful. <\/span><\/p>\n

A famous<\/span>anti-semite<\/a><\/span> and a man of<\/span>several scandals<\/a><\/span>, Dahl\u2019s story \u2014 written this time by <\/span>Matthew Dennison \u2014 is full of personal tragedies, quirks, and character flaws to boot. Despite there being no groundbreaking discoveries about the author\u2019s life in the book, the biography offers a fresh interpretation of the controversial author\u2019s legacy. <\/span><\/p>\n

SPEAKING OF DAHL- The children\u2019s book author has been making a comeback in <\/span>headlines over the past week, <\/span>after news that his books will be modified to cut out any language construed as insensitive came out. <\/span>The Telegraph<\/a><\/span> revealed some of the modifications that have been made to Dahl\u2019s books at the hands of \u201csensitivity readers,\u201d who have made changes ranging from switching out \u201cmen\u201d for \u201cpeople,\u201d to entire sentences that end up altering the tone of the text. <\/span><\/p>\n

The news has sparked a heated debate on social media<\/span> and a torrent of stories (three in the Guardian alone \u2014 <\/span>here<\/a><\/span>, <\/span>here<\/a><\/span> and <\/span>here<\/a><\/span>)<\/span> with some claiming the rewrites are harmless and provide more inclusive language that helps better serve the kids of today\u2019s world, while others say the move <\/span>is reminiscent of Orwell\u2019s 1984<\/a><\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

This is not a quiet venue: The live performance is fully equipped with a band and a <\/span>singer<\/span>, which really hypes the crowd up to get up and dance. Past midnight, a house DJ takes the reins and the party atmosphere gets supercharged. The food is impeccable; we especially loved their beef tenderloin, and the brie in filo dough for appetizer. For the vegetarians among you, we recommend the goat cheese salad. Cap the night with their creamy cr\u00e8me br\u00fbl\u00e9e or their delicious pavlova. <\/span><\/p>\n
