The statement didn\u2019t put a value on the transaction. Representatives of the company didn\u2019t get back to our request for comment ahead of dispatch time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What\u2019s next: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Edita will now look to appoint an independent financial advisor for the transaction, which is still pending regulatory approvals, the statement reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Edita has been looking into acquisitions for some time:<\/span><span style=\"\"> The snack maker in <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/09\/14\/elsewedy-electric-opens-second-phase-of-industrial-complex-in-tanzania-81153\/\" style=\"\">September<\/a><\/span><span style=\"\"> said it was in the final stages of acquiring an additional production line for its cake segment for around EGP 20 mn from an unnamed company. <\/span><span style=\"\">An earlier <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/01\/04\/edita-wont-be-acquiring-assets-of-ole-bakeries-manufacturer-61876\/\" style=\"\">bid to acquire assets belonging to the Egyptian Belgian Company (EBC)<\/a><\/span><span style=\"\">, best known for its Ole-branded food goods, fell through in January last year after the two companies were unable to agree on a valuation. EBC was later fully acquired by Saudi food conglomerate Savola in an <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/06\/12\/savola-closes-ole-bakery-acquisition-73315\/\" style=\"\">EGP 622.4 mn<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> transaction.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">REFRESHER- Emirati investment firm Rimco Investments acquired a 3% stake in Edita for EGP 192 mn <\/span><span>back in <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/10\/24\/uae-investor-snaps-up-3-of-edita-84857\/\" style=\"\">October<\/a><\/span><span>.
