TSO will be responsible for laying the track for a 330-km section linking Ain Sokhna to Borg El Arab via Sixth of October, it said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">ICYMI- <\/span><span style=\"\">Siemens Mobility, Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors have signed contracts <\/span><span>with the government to build a 2k-km national high-speed rail line. A 660-km<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2021\/09\/02\/from-sokhna-to-alexandria-in-a-jiffy-52282\/\" style=\"\">first phase<\/a><\/span><span> will link Ain Sokhna to Marsa Matrouh, while <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/05\/29\/orascom-construction-siemens-and-arab-contractors-consortium-ink-multi-bn-usd-high-speed-rail-contract-72169\/\" style=\"\">additional lines<\/a><\/span><span> will join Cairo to Abu Simbel and Luxor and Hurghada. The Siemens-OC-Arab Contractors consortium signed a USD 4.5 bn contract for the first phase in 2021 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Work to start imminently:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> TSO will begin construction work in \u201cearly 2023,\u201d according to the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">About the project:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> This will be the sixth-longest rail network in the world.
