That\u2019s nearly triple the fines they were told to pay <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tra.gov.eg\/en\/ntra-issues-the-second-semi-annual-report-of-2021-on-telecom-user-complaints\/\" style=\"\">in H2 2021<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">They\u2019ll also have to refund 4x more to customers: <\/span><span style=\"\">The providers were ordered to reimburse users a combined EGP 3.3 mn for service failures during 2H 2022, <\/span><span style=\"\"> a more than fourfold increase from <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3YZAj5a\" style=\"\">EGP 780k<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> during the same period in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">IN CONTEXT- Those payouts are absolute peanuts <\/span><span style=\"\">\u2014 mere rounding errors in view of the size of each operator\u2019s P&L here. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">C<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:700\">omplaints rose more than 50%: <\/span><span style=\"\">Users submitted 184.2k complaints durin<\/span><span style=\"\">g the second half <\/span><span>of last year, up from 121.8k <\/span><span>in the same period in 2021.<\/span><span> <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What were people complaining about? <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">Mobile services took the lead, making up 35% of the complaints made to the NTRA over the six-month period. Fixed internet came in second at 34% and landlines at 30%. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">The most complained about provider? Orange<\/span><span style=\"\">, which received <\/span><span style=\"\">some 1.9k complaints per <\/span><span style=\"\">100k subscribers for its internet services and <\/span><span>77 complaints per 100k for mobile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">WiFi down?
