The special-purpose vehicle has an initial capital of EGP 10 mn, EGP 1 mn of which the government has paid in, he added. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Valuation TBD: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">The final valuation of the company will depend on the outcome of fair value studies for each of the hotels, the minister said, without confirming which hotels will be transferred to the company. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">What will really matter is the mechanism: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">We expect the state to execute the transaction with the strategic (at least) via a capital increase, not a sale of existing shares. By having a new investor inject fresh capital, the company will have new funds to deploy as part of a growth and turnaround plan. In a sale of existing shares, the proceeds would benefit the selling parties, not the new company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">REFRESHER<\/span><span>- The government is bundling <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2023\/02\/13\/the-states-new-hotel-company-is-ready-to-go-to-market-but-is-a-30-stake-enough-96639\/\" style=\"\">seven of its five-star properties<\/a><\/span><span> nationwide \u2014 including the Cairo Marriott Hotel in Zamalek and Marriott Mena House next to the pyramids complex \u2014 into one firm that will offer shares as part of the Madbouly government\u2019s privatization program. <\/span><span style=\"\">Unnamed hotels are on the list of the <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2023\/02\/09\/rebooted-privatization-program-to-see-stakes-in-32-companies-sold-to-strategics-public-investors-96067\/\" style=\"\">32 state-owned companies<\/a><\/span><span> that will see stake sales over the next year. A government source told Enterprise <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2023\/01\/25\/govt-to-decide-on-hotel-privatization-within-two-months-94552\/\" style=\"\">in January<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> that most of the interest was coming from Gulf funds.
