The jobless rate is also down<\/span><span style=\"\"> 0.2 <\/span><span>percentage points compared to th<\/span><span>e <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2022\/02\/16\/unemployment-falls-slightly-to-7-4-65105\/\" style=\"\">same quarter<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">REMEMBER- <\/span><span style=\"\">The unemployment rate doesn\u2019t count people who are not looking for jobs<\/span><span> or who are unable to work. The labor force participation rate \u2014 which counts everyone aged 15-64 either in work or actively looking for work \u2014 was effective<\/span><span>ly unchanged<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> at 42.8% during the quarter and was down from 43.8% in 4Q 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Unemployment among women rose: <\/span><span>The rate of unemployed women rose 0.2 percentage points q-o-q  to 19.3%, while male unemployment fell to <\/span><span style=\"\">4.7% from 5.2%<\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\">.
