The company will deploy funds in feeder industries for the healthcare sector, such as the production of medical equipment and supplies, he said, adding that it will begin raising capital from local and global investors starting the second half of the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">The company has been involved in Egypt\u2019s healthcare sector for years:<\/span><span style=\"\"> Concord was part of a consortium that acquired 98% of Amoun Pharma for USD 500 mn back in 2007, a transaction which the company <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.concordus.com\/private-equity\" style=\"\">describes<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight:400;\"> as one of the largest private-equity transactions ever in Egypt. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding:0;margin:0;line-height:1.15;orphans:2;widows:2;text-align:left\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\">Concord is the second private-equity player to signal healthcare investment in recent weeks: <\/span><span style=\"\">B Investments and the Sovereign Fund of Egypt <\/span><span style=\"text-decoration-skip-ink:none;-webkit-text-decoration-skip:none;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a9c41d46-7d0c-4f6e-af88-675213a72da1\" style=\"\">announced a partnership<\/a><\/span><span style=\"\"> last month that could channel more than EGP 2 bn into the local healthcare and pharma sectors.
