Ezz Al Arab led CIB to its position as Egypt\u2019s leading home-grown bank in everything from profitability to sustainability as its chairman and managing director between 2002 and 2020, before <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/17847e29-9c0f-43ba-a6e6-a84a525dcc22\">stepping down<\/a> after a central bank audit said it found regulatory, compliance and governance concerns. He was appointed an <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/50d85511-3691-4546-a84e-742f5a09bc61\">adviser to CBE governor Hassan Abdallah<\/a> over the summer, after Abdallah took over the reins at the central bank from Tarek Amer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIB shares were up 1.47% <\/strong>to close at EGP 38.05 on the news.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The business press still can\u2019t tear its gaze from the meltdown at FTX. <\/strong>One-time crypto darling Sam Bankman-Fried\u2019s failed firm FTX will appear in Delaware bankruptcy court later on today, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/what-to-expect-as-ftx-debuts-biggest-crypto-chapter-11-in-court-11669077052?mod=hp_lead_pos2\">Wall Street Journal<\/a> reports.
