Safwan\u2019s daughter Mariam Thabet also announced their release yesterday in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mariamthabet\/status\/1616861005912350720?s=20&t=1SN43vb9dA74WTZ29vNRhg\">tweet<\/a>. Safwan and Seif were detained within months of each other <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/692e0dbb-bdc8-40ba-9fba-fb2926de93e9\">in late 2020<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/97cd926c-9da0-496b-b89d-f3d1474c7a2c\">early 2021<\/a> after being accused of joining and funding a terror organization. The family has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
