The presser, held by IMF Mission Chief for Egypt Ivanna Vladkova Hollar, will coincide with the release of the IMF\u2019s staff report on Egypt and other documents related to the extended fund facility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT\u2019S HAPPENING TODAY-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Senate is back in session today with a busy agenda: <\/strong>The upper house of parliament will kick off a two-day debate today on how to integrate the informal economy. The catalyst is a a study prepared by senator and business leader Ahmed Abu Hashima. Also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Senate\u2019s Financial and Economic Affairs Committee is set to <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/51216a98-bfaf-43ec-8970-578281024027\">hold a series of hearings<\/a>on a <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/eadfc091-174c-41db-bf19-a1e4cf62e7b7\">report<\/a> drafted by the pro-government Mostaqbal Watan party that aims to overhaul how we approach <strong>foreign direct investment<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Financial and Economic Affairs Committee will also discuss proposals to enforce <strong>price controls on key commodities<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Senate Housing Committee will resume <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/9a7335eb-c2fc-47c1-bf69-e87d32942cbf\">discussions on<\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/9a7335eb-c2fc-47c1-bf69-e87d32942cbf\">amendments<\/a><\/strong><strong> to the 2008 Unified Building Law<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PSA #1- Look for a daytime high of just 18\u00b0C and largely cloudy skies today <\/strong>in the capital city, our favorite weather app warns. The weather in Alex will be a little warmer at 20\u00b0C with mostly sunny skies, while those of you toiling from El Gouna and Somabay can expect a high of 22\u00b0C and not a cloud in the sky. Global growth this year \u201cis expected to decelerate sharply, reflecting synchronous policy tightening aimed at containing very high inflation, worsening financial conditions, and continued disruptions from Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine,\u201d the international lender warned, adding that \u201curgent global and national efforts\u201d will be needed to mitigate these risks, as well as the risk of debt distress in emerging markets.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><strong>DATA POINT #1- A record number of doctors left the <\/strong><strong>public health system last year -Medical Syndicate:<\/strong> Some 4.3k doctors \u2014 or 12 every day \u2014 left the public health system in 2022, up 3.2% y-o-y, according to a Medical Syndicate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/290713350950080\/posts\/pfbid07XiEfaf6pn6hMqYfB9ViPXwrWQGvGdkVRYogvKJr8m2fzY6GqvLLhm42taGPtdK7l\/?mibextid=Nif5oz\">statement<\/a>.
