Human rights is continuing to drive the conversation on Egypt in the foreign press this morning<\/strong> after imprisoned activist Alaa Abdel Fattah started a full hunger strike on Tuesday. A group of 15 Novel Laureates yesterday called on world leaders and diplomats to push for the release of prisoners and said Abdel Fattah was \u201cat risk of death,\u201d according to the Associated Press<\/a> and the Guardian<\/a>. Al Monitor<\/a> reports that Democratic lawmakers are calling on President Joe Biden to put pressure on Cairo to pardon detainees, while the Washington Post\u2019s editorial board<\/a> demands that our rights record be talked about at COP27.<\/p>\n
