Soaring case numbers in neighboring countries are a cause of major concern for the government, Madbouly said at a post-meeting press conference (<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Ta4yOi9ptgE?t=72\">watch, runtime: 3:11<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><strong>The situation in Egypt is still \u201cunder control\u201d as the rate of increase in the official case <\/strong><strong>count isn\u2019t <\/strong><strong>as high as most other countries<\/strong> that are in the grips of a second wave, but the situation could change once the weather cools down, World Health Organization Regional Adviser Maha Talaat told Al Hayah Al Youm\u2019s Mohamed Sherdy (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=05dEp-B8viA\">watch, runtime: 3:58<\/a>) last night. Yesterday\u2019s tally was up from 158 on Tuesday. Egypt has now disclosed a total of 105,883 confirmed cases of covid-19. The ministry also reported 13 new deaths, bringing the country\u2019s total death toll to 6,155. We now have a total of 98,516 confirmed cases that have fully recovered.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re getting USD 9.5 mn from Japan to fund emergency medical equipment <\/strong>needed to fight covid-19 after International Cooperation Minister Rania Al Mashat and Japanese ambassador Masaaki Nuki <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/37qWMjq\">yesterday put pen to paper<\/a> to unlock the funding that will take Japan\u2019s total support for Egyptian health and education programs to USD 54.5 mn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schools may not be the super-spreaders experts first thought:<\/strong> Several European studies have indicated that the reopening of schools had limited impact on the spread of covid-19, boosting policymakers who worry that closing schools again during a second wave would further disrupt education and impact parents\u2019 ability to work, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/4842aab1-7cc8-4973-b98a-03edf1eeae54\">the Financial Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pfizer is looking to supply 100 mn doses of its covid-19 vaccine by the end of the <\/strong><strong>year<\/strong> and another 1.3 bn by 2021, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/pfizer-sets-up-its-biggest-ever-vaccination-distribution-campaign-11603272614\">the Wall Street Journal<\/a> reports.
