<\/a> French transportation firm <\/strong>RATP Dev<\/a><\/strong> will run Cairo Metro Line 3:<\/strong> The National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) signed a EUR 1.14 bn contract with French transportation firm RATP Dev to operate the Cairo metro\u2019s third line for a period of 15 years, according to a Transport Ministry statement.<\/a> RATP Dev \u2014 short for R\u00e9gie Autonome des Transports Parisiens \u2014 operates urban transport systems on four continents, including the Paris metro line.<\/p>\n

Metro Line 3 houses Egypt\u2019s first transit hub\u2026 <\/strong>Adly Mansour station \u2014 the final station on Line 3 which was inaugurated last month<\/a> by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi \u2014 is now officially the country\u2019s first transit hub. The hub will connect the New Administrative Capital to the rest of the nation and include a commercial investment zone alongside a full-service transport complex. The station, which was constructed by Orascom Construction and the Arab Contractors, will also connect five different modes of transportation and serve some 1.5 mn passengers per day.<\/p>\n

\u2026And the Middle East\u2019s largest metro station:<\/strong> Heliopolis metro station was declared the largest metro station in MENA when Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir inaugurated it in October of last year<\/a>, becoming the largest in the Middle East.
