MOVES- Judge Abdallah Shoda<\/strong> was sworn in yesterday<\/strong> before President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as the new head of the Court of Cassation<\/strong>, the nation\u2019s highest appeals court, according to an Ittihadiya statement<\/a>. Shoda (bio<\/a>) served as the court\u2019s vice president since 1998. He now succeeds Abdallah Assr, who served as president since July 2019<\/a>. El Sisi was granted the power<\/a> to appoint the heads of the Court of Cassation, the Council of State (Maglis El Dawla), the State Lawsuits Authority, and the Administrative Prosecution Authority under amendments to the Judicial Authorities Act in 2017.<\/p>\n
