Egypt is officially taking its objections to Ethiopia\u2019s GERD proposal to the AU: <\/strong>Egypt has formally voiced complaints to the African Union (AU) regarding Ethiopia\u2019s proposal on filling the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which failed to include a binding dispute resolution mechanism, the Irrigation Ministry said in a statement<\/a>. In a letter to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who currently chairs the AU\u2019s, the ministry also called out Ethiopia for its recent unilateral filling of the dam\u2019s reservoir. Egypt and Sudan said earlier this week<\/a> they\u2019re walking away from the latest round of talks after Ethiopian presented the proposal.<\/p>\n
