Hisham Selim goes public about trans son: <\/strong>Actor Hisham Selim made headlines in<\/a>Reuters<\/a> for a rare conversation on gender identity he had on a talk show on Al Qahera Wel Nas on Sunday. A clip<\/a> in which Selim speaks about his 26-year-old transgender son Noor, born Nora, was widely circulated on social media to mixed responses.<\/p>\n

US-Egyptian citizen Reem Dessouky has been released by authorities and has returned to the <\/strong>US after<\/strong> having been detained for nearly a year in Egypt, reports the Associated Press<\/a>. Dessouky was held on charges of running a Facebook page critical of the government. She was due to be released last February, but her detention was extended after an Egyptian court accepted an appeal<\/a> from the prosecutor general.<\/p>\n
