Hammering on a big block of wood as we note this, today is looking reasonable, too: Markets in Hong Kong, South Korea and China are up this morning (only Japan is mixed) and futures suggest that European and US markets will also open in the green later today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s with the sudden pause in the sell-off? <\/strong>Word that G7 finance ministers and central bank governors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-03-02\/g-7-finance-ministers-plan-call-tuesday-to-weigh-virus-response?sref=mmeFTDW1\">will meet today<\/a> to discuss a coordinated response to the market meltdown and expectations that covid-19 will slash global growth this year. We have the full rundown in this morning\u2019s Speed Round.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One thing to keep in mind: <\/strong>We\u2019ve been collectively willing ourselves into (a) an end to the bull market for equities and (b) a global recession for more than year now. Just sayin\u2019.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\">\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-03\"><\/a> <strong>COVID-19 WATCH- There are now six covid-19 patients abroad who have recent travel <\/strong><strong>history in Egypt:<\/strong> California\u2019s Santa Clara county reported three new cases of covid-19, including a husband and wife who had recently traveled to Egypt have been confirmed with the virus, <a href=\"https:\/\/sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com\/2020\/03\/01\/coronavirus-covid19-santa-clara-county-3-new-cases\/\">according to CBS SF<\/a>. Four other people who were diagnosed with the virus <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7d240dc0-8f28-42b9-879c-5d114f19ad0d\">over the weekend<\/a> were also linked to Egypt. El Molla is looking to pique investor interest in Egypt\u2019s upcoming gold mining and exploration tender, which the ministry is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/6b6dc75f-f325-4023-ac97-64fff07b8999\">set to launch on 15 March<\/a>.
