The S&P 500 suffered its biggest drop in four months, the Dow Jones lost all of its 2020 gains, and the Nasdaq fell the most since August. Safe haven assets \u2014 US 10-years, the Swiss franc, the yen and gold \u2014 all saw gains as investors went in search of safety. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-01-26\/yen-rises-stock-futures-decline-as-virus-spreads-markets-wrap?sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg has more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re in market correction territory, says Morgan Stanley:<\/strong> The US stock market may be about to experience its first correction since October, Morgan Stanley\u2019s chief US equity strategist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/the-first-stock-market-correction-since-october-has-begun-says-morgan-stanley-analyst-who-called-2018-tech-rout-2020-01-27\">said yesterday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oil prices bombed yesterday:<\/strong> Brent fell 3% to reach USD 58.90\/bbl while US crude was down 1.9%. Nevertheless, it was detected yesterday for the first time in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-china-health-germany\/germany-identifies-first-case-of-deadly-coronavirus-idUSKBN1ZR057\">Germany<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-health-china-sri-lanka\/sri-lanka-confirms-first-case-of-coronavirus-health-official-idUSKBN1ZQ1WF\">Sri Lanka<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bangkokpost.com\/world\/1844884\/cambodia-confirms-first-case-of-coronavirus\">Cambodia<\/a>, meaning 15 countries outside of China now have confirmed cases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And Egyptian tourism companies are starting to bear the brunt of the outbreak<\/strong> following the cancellation of some 30k bookings by Chinese tourists this season.
