Technical and legal teams from the three countries wrapped up on Thursday meetings designed to lay the groundwork for a final agreement on the filling and operating timetable for the dam, which the ministers hope to reach in the US capital. Al Mashat also met with Google VP for Government Affairs and Public Policy Karan Bhatia to talk about contributing to Egypt's plan for sustainable development, empowering youth and women, and digital transformation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Al Mashat talks youth employment with ILO director, Islamic Development Bank <\/strong><strong>president at Davos:<\/strong> Al Mashat discussed with International Labor Organization Director General Guy Ryder ways to increase job availability for youth, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MOICEgypt\/posts\/2562066833840569\">according to a ministry statement<\/a>. Al Mashat and Oil Minister Tarek El Molla <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/2t1CIT2\">also discussed<\/a> youth employment, infrastructure projects, and private sector finance with Islamic Development President Bandar Al-Hajjar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"web-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ent.news\/2020\/1\/Coronavirus-1600px.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"enterprise\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chinese President Xi Jinping has stepped into the growing coronavirus crisis as the death toll yesterday rose to 56,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/coronavirus-56-people-killed-from-outbreak-in-china-11918069\">Sky News reports<\/a>. Jinping told the politburo that the country was facing a \u201cgrave situation\u201d as the spread of the virus accelerates. The total confirmed cases in China is now at 1,975. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/1993db1c-3e59-11ea-a01a-bae547046735\">The Financial Times reported<\/a> at the weekend that China has expanded travel restrictions to nine cities. Train and bus connections in Wuhan and the surrounding cities have been heavily monitored and regulated since the outbreak last week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Security at airports has been heightened globally<\/strong> as France, Japan, Australia, Malaysia and the US confirmed cases of the infectious disease within their borders. Passengers arriving to Cairo from China or those showing signs of sickness upon arrival at the airport will also be undergoing screening by health monitors, <a href=\"https:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/egyptNews\/idAFL8N29S5QG\">Reuters reports<\/a>. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/graphics\/2020-wuhan-novel-coronavirus-outbreak\/?sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg is attempting to map the outbreak<\/a> with a series of graphics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fears about the outbreak finally brought some volatility to US equities on Thursday, with the S&P 500 falling<\/strong><strong> almost 1%<\/strong> \u2014 its biggest decrease in nearly four months, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-01-24\/after-months-of-calm-volatility-finally-resurfaces-in-stocks?sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But analysts say there\u2019s still no need to panic:<\/strong> Investors are showing caution with stocks close to all-time highs, due to the still-unknown nature of the virus, which could develop into something more severe. But some analysts note that even in the worst-case scenario \u2014 a full-blown pandemic over the next six months \u2014 the S&P 500 would fall 10-15% and bounce back relatively quickly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investors (over)reaching for yield in fixed-income securities is becoming a<\/strong><strong> \u201cdangerous and aggressive\u201d tendency<\/strong>, while those seeking stronger credit protections are finding them harder to get, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/opinion\/articles\/2020-01-24\/debt-yield-seekers-lose-both-protection-and-compensation\">Brian Chappatta writes for Bloomberg<\/a>. Analysts say investors are putting aside their safety concerns as they hunt for maximum yields on collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), junk bonds, and high-yield, high-risk contingent convertibles across Europe and the US. Some CLO managers are reportedly also really leaning into loopholes in the rules governing them, which is weakening buyer protections but not quite putting off yield hunters, Adam Tempkin <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/clos-packed-loopholes-triggering-investor-110000029.html\">writes in a separate piece<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s all fun and games now, but there\u2019s a tipping point:<\/strong> While \u201cflexibility in an illiquid market may be a good thing when prices are fluctuating,\u201d this trend may be fast approaching a tipping point that could see investors incur severe losses if the credit cycle turns, Chappatta warns.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\" \/>\n<p><strong>The US and Israel are trying to resuscitate The Donald\u2019s Middle East peace plan:<\/strong> The US is set to unveil in the next couple of days the political component of its Mideast peace plan, President Donald Trump told reporters on Thursday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-01-23\/trump-says-mideast-peace-plan-to-be-unveiled-before-tuesday?srnd=premium-middle-east\">according to Bloomberg<\/a>. Israel\u2019s caretaker Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his centrist rival Benny Gantz are set to visit the White House on Tuesday to discuss the plans. The plan, which has been in the works for several years, has been met with multiple delays, the latest of which was the resignation of Middle East peace envoy Jason Greenblatt\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/09\/09\/what-were-tracking-on-9-september-2019\/\">resignation in September<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Surprising nobody, Trump predicts Palestinians will react \u201cnegatively at first\u201d to the proposed plan<\/strong>, but maintains that \u201cit\u2019s actually very positive for them.\u201d The Palestinian Authority has reportedly not been invited to participate in any talks, Palestine\u2019s presidential spokesperson said, <a href=\"https:\/\/af.reuters.com\/article\/egyptNews\/idAFL8N29T1M9\">according to Reuters<\/a>.
