It was an extremely slow night on the airwaves last night,<\/strong> with the nation\u2019s talking heads running out of steam as they wrapped up the week.<\/p>\n

By far the biggest story of the night was the news that Egyptian authorities had raided<\/strong> Turkey\u2019s state news agency.<\/strong> Yahduth Fi Misr\u2019s Sherif Amer reported that security forces had detained four people during a raid on Anadolu\u2019s Cairo office on Tuesday (watch, runtime: 1:30)<\/a>. Amer then moved to discuss the latest round of negotiations on the Grand Ethipian<\/strong> Renaissance Dam (GERD),<\/strong> with veteran Egyptian diplomat Mostafa El Feky hailing the presence of the World Bank in the negotiations. El Feky argued that Egypt should invite more mediators to the table to help put pressure on Ethiopia (watch, runtime: 4:08)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The inauguration of the Bernice Military base also got some airtime<\/strong> with Al Hayah Al Youm\u2019s Lobna Assal, who reported the attendance of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
