Interest is coming from EU-based investors, apparently. We dive deeper in the Speed Round below.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-04\"><\/a><strong> New building codes designed to curb illegal construction will now be <\/strong><strong>applied across all cities in Egypt <\/strong>after the government rolled them on a trial basis in a number of cities <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ff94c5e9-c386-45d1-80cd-279861fb2f35\">last May<\/a>. Construction licenses will only be handed out to projects that meet new requirements including limits on building heights that vary with street width. Masrawy has <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3ymBk9v\">the full list<\/a> of requirements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The new measures are designed to curb unlicensed construction,<\/strong> and follow <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ec8c2b4f-f425-443e-ad0a-82c4e82b1578\">a six-month construction ban<\/a> the government imposed last year along with a campaign against wildcat buildings that resulted in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/97dc66ec-ad6f-4273-b7c7-d7520ddb0ae0\">bns of EGP<\/a> in fines collected and settlements reached in the past year.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-03\"><\/a> <strong>HAPPENING NOW- It looks like we have confirmation that the Suez Canal <\/strong><strong>Authority (SCA) has reached an agreement with the owner of the Ever Given <\/strong>to compensate for last March\u2019s six-day blockage of the waterway. Both the SCA and the ship\u2019s owners asked the Ismailia Economic Court during hearings held today to stay proceedings until Sunday as they\u2019re close to seeing eye-to-eye, according to a court decision seen by <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3dI9axU\">Youm7<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The two sides could ink a final agreement \u201cwithin days,\u201d <\/strong>after which the court will issue an order to release the ship, which has remained in the Bitter Lake <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/8022fbeb-48b1-4d77-b7e9-ccaf73043f67\">since being seized by the SCA in April<\/a>, said Hazem Barakat, a lawyer representing the ship\u2019s Japanese owner Shoei Kisen. In one of the largest scale hacking operations seen by experts, the group \u2014 believed to be operating out of Russia \u2014 managed to install so-called ransomware on nearly 40k computers linked to Kaseya. The malicious software it uses locks up those machines until bitcoin payments are made. Kaseya has since shut down its servers and <a href=\"https:\/\/helpdesk.kaseya.com\/hc\/en-gb\/articles\/4403440684689-Important-Notice-July-2nd-2021\">urged clients<\/a> to stop using its software on further notice.
