The report did not say how long the ban would remain in effect.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vaccinated travelers from \u201ccountries with a good health situation\u201d could be allowed to <\/strong><strong>return to Europe this summer <\/strong>under a new European Commission proposal that would see visitors return to the bloc after a near yearlong ban, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vonderleyen\/status\/1389141961190301696\">Twitter<\/a>. The new rules would however include an \u201cemergency brake\u201d that would allow countries to reinstate travel bans on certain locations in the event of a rise in infections or the emergence of new variants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>But don\u2019t pack your bags just yet if you\u2019ve taken a Russian or Chinese jab. <\/strong>The EU\u2019s list of approved vaccines doesn\u2019t yet include Russia\u2019s Sputnik V or China\u2019s Sinopharm and Sinovac shots \u2014 three of the jabs Egypt is relying on in its vaccination program or manufacturing domestically. <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/70d0af73-fd87-43f9-bc0c-f3df9375940b\">US citizens<\/a> could be among the first to be allowed to travel to the bloc, von der Leyen said last week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Could we get our hands on some mRNA goodness from Moderna? <\/strong>The company will contribute 500 mn doses of its covid-19 vaccine to the Covax program after receiving emergency clearance from the World Health Organization last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-05-03\/moderna-to-supply-500-million-vaccine-doses-to-covax-effort?srnd=premium-middle-east&sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports. The foreign ministers of Australia, India, South Korea and South Africa have also been invited. The summit will also be used as a chance to agree on a USD 15 bn initiative to help 40 mn girls in developing countries go to school over the next five years, UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-56965963\">BBC<\/a>. <strong>The talks come ahead of a high profile G7 leaders summit<\/strong> from 11-13 June with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to gather leaders of member nations, EU countries, and other invited guests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>US futures have just fallen sharply <\/strong>with European shares, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-05-03\/stocks-in-asia-to-open-up-dollar-yields-declined-markets-wrap?srnd=premium&sref=mmeFTDW1\">Bloomberg<\/a> reports, noting that traders aren\u2019t quite sure of the reasons behind the move. S&P 500 contracts fell 0.5% and Nasdaq futures dropped 0.8% in just minutes earlier this afternoon, a turn that some have speculated is being fuelled by rising tensions between China and Taiwan and a stricter lockdown in Singapore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MARKET WATCH-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a id=\"tldr-story-06\" class=\"content-anchor\"><\/a><strong> GOOD NEWS FOR EGYPT- Abu Dhabi\u2019s newest sovereign fund, ADQ, is on an expansion <\/strong><strong>spree<\/strong>, CEO Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi in a rare interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-05-03\/craving-more-abu-dhabi-s-new-wealth-fund-can-t-move-fast-enough?srnd=premium-middle-east\">Bloomberg<\/a>, saying he was worried the fund wasn\u2019t moving \u201cfast enough.\u201d ADQ is looking to make significant new investments this year \u2014 and in the next five years \u2014 Alsuwaidi added. The fund has amassed an estimated USD 110 bn in assets since its founding in 2018, with its holdings including Egyptian or Egypt-based companies such as <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d117b907-a3f9-4a75-80dc-b07748621d7a\">Amoun Pharma<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/958aae17-9582-4af8-a183-ae322ccf304b\">Lulu Hypermarket<\/a>. It\u2019s also said to be looking at investments in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ad79dcc4-e48b-492b-a3fc-e706b8fcb8cc\">Atyab<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7d32e060-6886-4e50-912d-289c42928f40\">Wataniya<\/a>. ADQ is, however, primarily focused on UAE companies as it aims to help the Gulf country to build out its non-oil economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EFG Hermes topped the EGX\u2019s brokerage league table in April<\/strong> with a market share of 40.1%, according to the EGX\u2019s April <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/5\/Periodicals-Monthly-Ranking-of-Brokerage-Firms-En.pdf\">brokerage firm rankings (pdf)<\/a>.
