We\u2019ll have the full story in tomorrow morning\u2019s edition of EnterpriseAM.<\/p>\n<p><strong>** CATCH UP QUICK<\/strong> on the top stories from today\u2019s EnterpriseAM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Sinovac vaccine is <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/84d063a5-3089-4d27-9030-41952a930d4d\">now cleared<\/a><\/strong> for emergency use in Egypt.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Inclusion in the JPMorgan bond index <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ea858526-5700-49cf-9a6c-4bb9a7b54d2a\">may not be quite as lucrative<\/a><\/strong> as first thought.<\/li>\n<li><strong>There may be a <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/1b06cfcf-14d0-4670-ae00-bb5ebfb3e42e\">potential compromise<\/a><\/strong><strong> to end the Ever Given dispute<\/strong> in the works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY INTERNATIONALLY<\/strong> is that banks\u2019 losses from the Archegos Capital Management debacle have now surpassed the USD 10 bn mark, after Nomura Holdings and UBS Group reported bigger hits than previously expected. Nomura reported losses nearing USD 2.9 bn (and suspended its head of prime brokerage), while UBS said it lost USD 861 mn from the implosion. The story is on the front pages of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/c480d5c0-ccf7-41de-8f56-03686a4556b6\">Financial Times<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/ubs-takes-surprise-774-million-archegos-hit-11619501547?mod=hp_lead_pos1\">Wall Street Journal<\/a> this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The majority of Americans are happy with US President Joe Biden\u2019s first 100 days in<\/strong><strong> office<\/strong>, with 55% of respondents in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/after-100-days-americans-give-biden-high-marks-covid-19-response-economy-2021-04-27\/\">Reuters \/ Ipsos poll<\/a> saying they approve of the president\u2019s performance so far. Biden fared best in his handling of the pandemic and the economy while in the White House, although the newswire notes that \u201ccircumstances beyond his control\u201d played in his favor \u2014 including him inheriting the country as covid-19 vaccines were already rolling out, and his economy being compared to the meltdown seen in 2020. The president scored lowest on his immigration policies, earning a 49% disapproval rating.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vaccinated Americans will finally be allowed into the EU again this summer \u2014 granted<\/strong><strong> they have not taken a Chinese or Russian jab.<\/strong> US citizens who have taken one of the EU-approved vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson) will be able to travel freely in the 27 member states, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/25\/world\/europe\/american-travel-to-europe.html\">the New York Times<\/a>. Although von der Leyen did not single them out, China\u2019s Sinovac and Sinopharm as well as Russia\u2019s Sputnik V are currently not included in Europe\u2019s vaccine passport system, meaning Americans who received any of these jabs are unlikely to be allowed into the bloc this summer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does that mean for Egypt when the EU expands its travel policies?<\/strong> It is unclear whether the same policy will be applied to other countries as well, and whether this policy could be amended. Aside from AstraZeneca, the Sinopharm vaccine is one of the main jabs being administered in Egypt\u2019s vaccine rollout, with Sinovac \u2014 which we plan to manufacture domestically \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/84d063a5-3089-4d27-9030-41952a930d4d\">also being approved<\/a> for use in the country yesterday. The Health Ministry is also <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/f26e1432-d88a-4d80-a628-e03687889ed5\">looking<\/a> to get its hands on doses of Sputnik V. Minapharm is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/f26e1432-d88a-4d80-a628-e03687889ed5\">set to manufacture<\/a> the vaccine locally, but it\u2019s unclear whether any of the output will be earmarked for Egypt.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saudi forces intercepted a remote-controlled boat full of explosives off Yanbu<\/strong> <strong>this<\/strong><strong> morning<\/strong>, the kingdom\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/modgovksa\/status\/1387003839593820171?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\">defense ministry said<\/a>. The announcement came after as-of-yet unconfirmed reports of an attack on a vessel near the Red Sea port city. Security firm Dryad Global said the vessel could have been oil tanker NCC Dammam, which is owned by Saudi\u2019s national shipping carrier Bahri, but Bahri CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/middle-east\/bahri-ceo-says-none-its-vessels-attacked-off-saudi-2021-04-27\/\">Abdullah Aldubaikhi says<\/a> none of the firm\u2019s ships were hit. Apple\u2019s new feature is fueling the flames of the iPhone maker\u2019s rift with ad revenue-reliant Facebook over the implications to the industry, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/technology-56831241\">BBC<\/a> reports. This rollout is hardly a new direction for Apple, which blocks third-party cookies by default in Safari, and last year forced app providers in iOS to spell out in their App Store listing what data they collect. The App Tracking Transparency feature will be on by default, meaning app developers will have to explicitly ask you for permission to use the IDFA identifier on your phone to collect your data.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Facebook thinks the world is ending, suggesting that 80% of people will opt out of sharing data<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2020\/12\/speaking-up-for-small-businesses\/\">warning<\/a> in December 2020 that the update could cut cashflow through its ad network by half. This change would likely hit small businesses the hardest, the Big Tech company claimed. Nonetheless, Facebook appears to have accepted the update in its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/business\/news\/how-to-prepare-for-changes-to-facebook-ads-from-ios-14-update\">blog post<\/a> last week, where it promised \u201cnew experiences and measurement protocols,\u201d and admitting that the ways digital advertisers collect and use information needed to evolve and rely on less data.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apple\u2019s iOS 14.5 update is available now: <\/strong>While on wifi, access it through your Settings, then tap General, followed by Software Update.
