<\/a> Banque du Caire (BdC) is looking to expand its digital services to serve African<\/strong> and Arab markets in the near future<\/strong> through an e-payments arm that will be geared towards the local market as a first phase, Chairman and CEO Tarek Fayed tells Hapi Journal<\/a>. The state-owned bank tapped an unnamed regional partner to set up the e-payments arm<\/a>. The Central Bank of Egypt approved the new arm a while back, Fayed confirmed, but did not provide further details on where it will be based. BdC is looking at tapping into digital payment technologies to help promote the growth of its customer base by providing various PoS terminals and using QR codes, which should promote the adoption of digital wallets and credit cards among the public, he added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
