We have chapter and verse in this afternoon\u2019s Speed Round, below.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, and we have news of two big M&A today, too. <strong>It\u2019s a great day for finance nerds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CATCH UP QUICK<\/strong> on the top stories from this morning\u2019s issue of EnterpriseAM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>IMF more upbeat on global growth<\/strong>, says covid-end \u201cincreasingly visible.\u201d The IMF <strong>upgraded Egypt\u2019s growth projection<\/strong> for FY2021-2022 by 0.2 percentage points to 5.7%, up from its 5.5% growth forecast in January. <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/83398725-78cf-440c-ae45-be20ca82835e\">Output is expected to accelerate to 5.8% by FY2025-2026<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Madbouly government delivered a primary surplus of EGP 25 bn<\/strong> during the first nine months of FY2020-2021, despite the economic shock of the coronavirus heaping pressure on public finances, Finance Minister <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/e7b85d26-d96d-4024-b68e-ab4773f490c6\">Mohamed Maait said yesterday<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Covid cases are rising in Egypt again + we have an agreement to make Sinovac<\/strong> here at home. It\u2019s the less popular sibling of the Sinopharm vaccine now being deployed in Egypt, but still appears to protect against <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/0b05a266-cfd0-4843-a495-2434a6187cd1\">100% of \u201chospitalized, severe and fatal\u201d cases of covid-19<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Algebra Ventures doubles down on Egypt with USD 90 mn fund<\/strong>, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/0b05a266-cfd0-4843-a495-2434a6187cd1\">first close<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/0b05a266-cfd0-4843-a495-2434a6187cd1\">expected in 3Q2021<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HAPPENING NOW- Egypt\u2019s digitization drive just got a shot in the arm <\/strong>after President Abdel Fattah El Sisi this morning inaugurated a centralized records center that will use \u201csmart technology\u201d to help eliminate the counterfeiting of official documents, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/1127099337809445\">Ittihadiya said<\/a>. The new facility will set nationwide standards to authenticate everything from passports to university graduation certificates and national ID cards (which will in the future be chipped). It will create databases that will include biometric data and be linked to all state bodies \u2014 and secured against cyberattacks. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elwatannews.com\/news\/details\/5421645\">El Watan<\/a> has more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD- Depending on who you ask, it\u2019s the end times (for the stock <\/strong><strong>market) or the best of times (for the market and the global economy). <\/strong>Capturing the global business press\u2019 imagination this afternoon is JPMorgan Chase boss Jamie Dimon, whose <a href=\"https:\/\/reports.jpmorganchase.com\/investor-relations\/2020\/ar-ceo-letters.htm\">annual letter to shareholders<\/a> makes the bold claim that the US economy is about to go on a two (or more) year tear. \u201cI have little doubt that with excess savings, new stimulus savings, huge deficit spending, more QE, a new potential infrastructure bill, a successful vaccine and euphoria around the end of the pandemic, the U.S. economy will likely boom. <strong>This boom could easily run into 2023<\/strong> because all the spending could extend well into 2023,\u201d Dimon writes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dimon\u2019s call tops the front pages<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/jpmorgan-ceo-jamie-dimon-sees-goldilocks-moment-for-u-s-economy-11617791403?mod=hp_lead_pos1\">Wall Street Journal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/c33c9577-0faf-424d-919e-68bda2052867\">Financial Times<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-04-07\/dimon-says-fintech-and-big-tech-are-here-as-banks-lose-ground?srnd=premium-middle-east\">Bloomberg<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/04\/07\/jamie-dimon-says-economic-boom-fueled-by-deficit-spending-vaccines-could-easily-run-into-2023.html\">CNBC<\/a>.
