Moharram\u2019s Elevate Private Equity set up <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/7b1c81d3-71f3-42bf-8041-8c22579af22b\">the USD 380 mn healthcare platform<\/a> earlier this year alongside Misr Capital.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The most recent bid: EGP 740 mn.<\/strong> Tawasol Holdings and LimeVest last month offered to purchase a 74% stake in Alex Medical at EGP 52 a share. Tawasol already <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/a108ea38-12e7-4974-9c7c-e191893d0399\">owns 26%<\/a> of Alex Medical, meaning the acquisition would give the consortium 100% ownership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This was a response to bids submitted by Tana Africa and Global One Healthcare<\/strong>, which offered to purchase the company for <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d5dda1b5-e29d-44de-adad-25b7807093f7\">EGP 49.04 per share<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/324b0f80-415a-4f55-93a2-f4bef5c8108d\">EGP 47.98<\/a>. Cleopatra Hospitals Group, meanwhile, has the lowest bid, valuing the company at EGP 550 mn with its <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/8bcdeedc-6ea2-4492-adf0-c0dad0bff1f1\">EGP 38.53 per-share offer in May<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Could it climb further? <\/strong>PwC reckons so. The accounting firm\u2019s due diligence report suggested that this could rise to EGP 800 mn, given the strong competition for the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One player has already left the game:<\/strong> Speed Medical <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/d9a165d3-7d1b-4ace-8b1f-2393f9e7d989\">quit the Tawasol-LimeVest consortium<\/a> in May for unknown reasons. The group had previously offered to purchase shares for EGP 38.09 apiece in April.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The trigger for the bidding war:<\/strong> Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) wants to sell its 51.4% stake in the company that it acquired from NMC Healthcare\u2019s BR Shetty. ADCB was one of the Emirati healthcare firm\u2019s main creditors when it went into administration last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER M&A NEWS- <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Maridive isn\u2019t selling its subsidiary: <\/strong>Maridive Oil & Services said talks with Jeddah-based Al Subaie Investment Group over the sale of its subsidiary Maridive Offshore Projects have ended without agreement, the EGX-listed company said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/7\/Maridive.pdf\">statement (pdf)<\/a>.
