Man lives after almost becoming whale food<\/strong>:<\/strong> Michael Packard, 56, says he escaped relatively unscathed on Friday after a humpback whale scooped him up and then spat him back out while he was diving off the coast of Cape Cod, a local newspaper<\/a> reported before the story was picked by the global press. Packard was in about 45 feet of water when he \u201cjust felt this truck hit me and everything just went dark \u2026 I was in his closed mouth for about 30 to 40 seconds before he rose to the surface and spit me out,\u201d he said. Packard was then pulled out of the water by his crew. \u201cI am very bruised up but have no broken bones,\u201d he told the newspaper, adding that he'll be back in the water as soon as he heals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
