The broadcaster has <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3i9u0ZT\">updated the story<\/a> and now claims a sale could go ahead at the beginning of the next fiscal year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Juhayna isn\u2019t facing imminent delisting:<\/strong> The company is being <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/b008ce56-a392-4bee-9678-8e1988912054\">moved today<\/a> to the \u201cD-list\u201d of naughty companies thanks to a delay in the disclosure of its FY2020 financials, but delisting is still a long way off.<\/li>\n<li><strong>IDH actively looking for M&A targets outside Egypt:<\/strong> IDH is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/26229540-e0c1-45e5-b5e8-0b808a179371\">actively screening<\/a> for targets that would allow it to expand into new African, Asian and Middle Eastern markets and plans to open 30-35 new branches in Egypt this year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A (HOPEFUL) SIGN OF THE TIMES- <\/strong>The Tourism Ministry will launch a new three-year international tourism promotion campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/146863614150734\">this fall<\/a> in a bid to drum up post-covid business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The rest of the world is having a slow news day:<\/strong> There\u2019s not a whole lot going on around the world, turning the international front pages into a one-man show this morning. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/ahead-of-tulsa-trip-biden-to-unveil-new-plans-to-reduce-black-white-wealth-gap\/2021\/05\/31\/b80c9c4e-c269-11eb-8c18-fd53a628b992_story.html\">Biden\u2019s Tulsa speech<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/alaska-arctic-wildlife-refuge-oil-gas-drilling-biden-b9f20088957d42e99b791ff94169198f\">Biden\u2019s suspension<\/a> of Arctic oil and gas exploration, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/some-us-meat-plants-stop-operating-after-jbs-cyber-attack-2021-06-01\/\">Biden White House accusing Russia<\/a> of launching a cyberattack on a meatpacking company are all getting different degrees of attention by the foreign press.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HAPPENING THIS WEEK-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tomorrow is PMI day: <\/strong>May\u2019s purchasing managers\u2019 index figures for Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE will be out tomorrow. The survey claims Egypt\u2019s non-oil private sector <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/2dcfcd20-2bb5-4453-bf6c-94aab883abd1\">continued to face uncertainty in April<\/a>, with declines in demand, production and employment keeping activity in contraction for a fifth straight month.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-05\"><\/a> <strong>The US\u2019 de facto GERD envoy is back on the road in search of a solution:<\/strong> Washington\u2019s Horn of Africa envoy Jeffrey Feltman is on a seven-day tour around the Gulf and Africa to discuss the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam. Tensions are mounting as Ethiopia prepares to resume filling the dam next month \u2014 and as there are <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/dd608692-fb14-47e3-84b2-069eb2cf119e\">reports<\/a> <strong>Ethiopia may be building as many as 100 smaller dams to boost agricultural output<\/strong>. The State Department <a href=\"https:\/\/www.state.gov\/u-s-special-envoy-for-the-horn-of-africa-feltman-visits-qatar-saudi-arabia-uae-kenya\/\">said<\/a> yesterday that Feltman will visit Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kenya and Qatar between 31 May and 6 June as part of efforts to break the deadlock in negotiations over the hydropower project, which threatens to deprive Egypt and Sudan of vital water supplies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The US has so far refrained from trying to force an agreement:<\/strong> Following <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/00b4d2f8-c2db-4f66-84e0-5105f8ca2a7f\">Feltman\u2019s tour of<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/00b4d2f8-c2db-4f66-84e0-5105f8ca2a7f\">the region last month,<\/a> Washington gave public backing to the current African-Union-led process and said it had no plans to involve itself in mediating the dispute. Investment tends to prioritize new power generation projects over installing robust transmission and distribution infrastructure, leading to an inefficient and poorly maintained grid that results in USD 5 bn of energy being lost in sub-Saharan Africa each year. \u201cA lot more investment needs to go into systems that can actually handle the upsurge of power that is to come,\u201d said Zainab Usman, director of Carnegie\u2019s Africa Program, blaming a \u201cfixation\u201d on power generation.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-07\"><\/a> <strong>El Face has (another) PR crisis on its hands:<\/strong> The popularity of Facebook in the Middle East has plummeted in the wake of last month\u2019s conflict between Hamas and Israel as users accuse the social media giant of censoring pro-Palestinian posts.
