<\/a> US regulators are continuing to make vague statements about maybe <\/strong>doing something to temper the madness in the crypto markets:<\/strong> US regulators may be about to put a leash on your doges, according to this front page story in the Financial Times<\/a>, which may be overreaching slightly with its headline. Michael Hsu, the US Treasury\u2019s new comptroller of the currency, tells the salmon-colored paper that he wants agencies to set up a \u201cregulatory perimeter\u201d for crypto assets, and speaks of \u201csome interest\u201d among \u201csome\u201d of his peers for \u201ccoordinating.\u201d<\/p>\n

Seems kinda non-committal and vague in comparison to Beijing<\/strong>, which went almost nuclear earlier this month by banning financial institutions and payment companies from using crypto<\/a> and pledging to clamp down<\/a> on bitcoin mining and trading.<\/p>\n

Crypto assets of all stripes have been on a wild ride this year<\/strong>, soaring to record highs during the first quarter before crashing over the past two weeks, whipsawing largely on the whims of tech bn\u2019aire and Tesla boss Elon Musk.<\/p>\n
