Jordan's King Abdullah II and his half brother Prince Hamza bin Hussein <\/strong>yesterday made their first joint public appearance <\/strong>since the latter was accused of plotting to undermine the government and placed under house arrest, the Associated Press<\/a> reports. Marking the 100th year anniversary of the establishment of Transjordan by the British empire, the two were photographed together at the grave of the late King Hussein \u2014 a message seemingly designed to put a line under recent tensions in the royal family and put forward an image of unity. Abdullah said last Wednesday that the rift between himself and Hamza had been \u201cnipped in the bud.\u201d<\/p>\n
