The CBE is now extending the waiver on implementing the regulations until the end of December, after saying last year it would give banks a breather on the regs until 12 April 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background:<\/strong> The regulations \u2014 which the CBE <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.press\/stories\/2019\/04\/09\/egypts-banks-need-to-set-aside-additional-capital-for-credit-concentration-risks-2\/\">issued in 2019<\/a> \u2014 require commercial banks to set aside additional capital above the base requirement.
