Egypt and Algeria pledged to continue to push for a resolution in Libya <\/strong>by attempting to reach a political settlement between Tripoli\u2019s unity government and eastern Libyan leader Khalifa Haftar, in a meeting<\/a> between Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra yesterday in Algeria. The two ministers also agreed to continue improving bilateral ties and cooperation between Egypt and Algeria, Shoukry said in a press conference (watch, runtime: 1:37<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Shoukry i<\/strong>s on a two-day visit to Algeria<\/strong> to attend <\/strong>a ministerial-level meeting of Libya\u2019s neighbors<\/a><\/strong>, during which he called for the holding of \u201ccomprehensive and credible\u201d national elections in Libya \u2014 according to a roadmap agreed on by both sides \u2014 that would put an end to the transitional period that saw conflict between the unity government and other Libyan factions.
