The targets have been revised up from an earlier April <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/8\/USagridep-Egypt-Cotton-Report-March31.pdf\">forecast<\/a>by FAS that predicted 16% annual growth to reach 250k bales in the current marketing year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The growth would come on the back of a projected 20% y-o-y increase in harvested area<\/strong> to 85k hectares, as higher demand in 2021 incentivized farmers to keep planting through June after the end of the traditional season. But despite the jump, production still isn\u2019t expected to rebound to the 305k bales it recorded in the 2019\/20 market year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other things we\u2019re keeping an eye on this morning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Private cars<\/strong> registered in <strong>Egypt and Saudi Arabia<\/strong> will be able to be driven in both countries, under an <a href=\"https:\/\/gulfnews.com\/world\/mena\/saudi-arabia-and-egypt-sign-private-car-movement-deal-1.81786665\">agreement<\/a> signed between Cairo and Riyadh.<\/li>\n<li>German-Swiss construction firm <strong>Liebherr<\/strong> will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MinistryTransportation\/posts\/142623378034727\">provide<\/a><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MinistryTransportation\/posts\/142623378034727\">12 electric RTG cranes<\/a><\/strong> for <strong>Alexandria Port<\/strong> under <strong>a EGP 350 mn contract<\/strong> signed with the Transport Ministry.<\/li>\n<li>Egypt\u2019s <strong>Arab Contractors<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/arabcont.com\/Release-2021-1656\">has been awarded<\/a> <strong>a new EUR 110 mn (c.
