Egypt has vaccinated 1.6 mn state employees so far<\/strong>, including 44k last Tuesday alone, Health Minister Hala Zayed said during the cabinet meeting today, according to a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

All staff in the education sector are to have received at least one dose of a vaccine by 15 <\/strong>September<\/strong>, with everyone expected to have received a second dose by the end of October, Zayed said. Some 289 vaccination centers have been set up at 59 public and private universities nationwide, Higher Education Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said, adding that 86.2k doses had been administered through these centers till 31 August.<\/p>\n

The Health Ministry <\/strong>reported<\/a><\/strong> 291 new covid-19 infections yesterday<\/strong>, up from 279 the day before. Egypt has now disclosed a total of 288,732 confirmed cases of covid-19.
