<\/a> El Face may no longer be the best place to get your alternative facts:<\/strong> The Donald announced he\u2019s officially launching his social media network \u2014 only to see it immediately get hacked. The aptly-named \u201cTruth Social<\/a>\u201d is set to launch next month \u201cto fight back against the tyranny of Big Tech,\u201d the former US commander-in-chief said last week<\/a>. The front page of the Truth Social page was hacked following the announcement. The launch of the social media network under the umbrella of the Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), comes several months after Trump was banned from social media networks<\/a> after the January Capitol Hill riots<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TMTG is now eyeing a public listing<\/strong> via special purpose acquisition vehicle (SPAC) Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) after the two companies announced a definitive merger. The listing plans led TMTG\u2019s shares to soar on the back of speculative trading, with Bloomberg reporting<\/a> that \u201cthe stock gain drove the implied value of the new venture to more than USD 8.2 bn\u201d despite a complete lack of details on the company\u2019s financials or business plans.
