That said, <strong>the meeting of our financial regulators is casting a long shadow,<\/strong> especially in light of the FRA\u2019s statement today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY TODAY-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"content-anchor\" id=\"tldr-story-01\"><\/a> <strong>EGX trading fees are set to be slashed 20%<\/strong>, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/11\/%D8%AE%D9%81%D8%B6-%D9%85%D9%82%D8%A7%D8%A8%D9%84-%D8%AE%D8%AF%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%84-converted.pdf\">statement (pdf)<\/a> today. The fees include those paid on each transaction to the EGX, the FRA, Misr Clearing, Depositing and Registry (MCDR), and the Investor Protection Fund, the FRA said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/11\/fra.pdf\">statement (pdf)<\/a> issued yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The announcement comes as FRA, EGX and <\/strong><strong>MCDR officials are still meeting to<\/strong><strong> discuss a <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ec6afc7f-e068-4bb3-86c2-bf392f54ae26\">basket of measures<\/a><\/strong> announced by the Madbouly government earlier this week in an effort to support trading on the bourse and alleviate investor concerns ahead of instituting the <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/fc92b9f8-5427-446f-a7dc-2960cc4d17a4\">capital gains tax<\/a> in a few short months.
