It\u2019s highly unlikely we\u2019ll see any changes during the final policy meeting of the year, with everyone we surveyed in <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/15e1059e-0499-4fda-b29a-a3100b36af63\">our customary poll<\/a> telling us that policymakers will hold fire due to uncertainty over foreign inflows and inflation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potentially playing into the CBE\u2019s calculations will be the decision made by the Federal <\/strong><strong>Reserve a day earlier:<\/strong> The US central bank could announce plans to hike rates in 2022 and accelerate the tapering of its bond-buying programme as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/1ae49b1c-f8d6-4c96-8355-3d89049ead60\">political pressure builds<\/a> on policymakers to do something to slow inflation, which last month reach its highest rate in almost 40 years.
