The plan was outlined in a newly completed study by auditing and consultancy firm BDO on restructuring and developing five companies affiliated with the state\u2019s Holding Company for Food Industries: Alexandria Oil and Soap; Tanta Oil and Soap; Nile Company for Oil and Detergents; Abo El Hol Company for Oil and Detergents; and the Egyptian Starch, Yeast, and Detergents Company. Back in 2020, the <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/903b84d9-c204-4ac4-843a-c0770d099556\">Supply Ministry announced<\/a> that it was looking at potentially selling off some of the Holding Company for Food Industries\u2019 factories as part of the government\u2019s plans to develop and restructure state-owned enterprises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Another Supply Ministry PPP project is also in the works:<\/strong> The government will also team up with private firms to establish four strategic warehouses for the Supply and Internal Trade Ministry at a total cost of about EGP 3.2 bn, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EgyptianCabinet\/posts\/303829981787429\">Finance Ministry statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other things we\u2019re keeping an eye on this morning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>National Bank of Egypt<\/strong> (and fintech company <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.opayweb.com\/\">OPay<\/a><\/strong> have signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/12\/NBE-_-OPay-PRL-AR-.pdf\">cooperation<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2021\/12\/NBE-_-OPay-PRL-AR-.pdf\">protocol<\/a> to provide online payment and collection services for Egyptian SMEs.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Russian, Egyptian firms form JV for wheat imports:<\/strong> Agro Nile <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.com\/markets\/newswire\/russias-ugc-sets-up-a-joint-venture-to-supply-grain-to-egypt\">will be<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.agriculture.com\/markets\/newswire\/russias-ugc-sets-up-a-joint-venture-to-supply-grain-to-egypt\">established as a joint venture<\/a> between Russia\u2019s United Grain Company and Egypt\u2019s Astra to supply Russian grain to the Egyptian market starting in 1Q2022.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Egypt is rolling out its first <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Moemigegy\/posts\/286480676842758\">ins. policy for Egyptian expats<\/a><\/strong> starting 1 January, developed by the Immigration Ministry, the Financial Regulatory Authority, and the Ins.
