Some 69 mn people will now have access to health ins.(outside of the universal scheme) after the ministry decided to add 6.5 mn farmers, 6.2 mn irregular workers in transport, logistics and mining, 1.8 mn business owners, 700k microbus and taxi drivers, as well as tens of thousands of workers in the fishing industry and members of artists\u2019 and actors\u2019 unions to the system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other things we\u2019re keeping an eye on this morning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Assiut oil refinery inaugurated:<\/strong> President Abdel Fattah El Sisi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/469954437826623\">inaugurated<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Egy.Pres.Spokesman\/posts\/469954437826623\">yesterday<\/a> Assiut Oil Refining Company\u2019s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sis.gov.eg\/Story\/158581\/Petroleum-Minister-High-octane-gasoline-complex-to-be-set-up-at-dlrs-450-mln?lang=en-us\">USD 450 mn<\/a> oil refinery, which is expected to produce about 800k tonnes of high-octane gasoline each year.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Serbia <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/alborsaanews.com\/2021\/12\/22\/1493223\">is considering<\/a><\/strong><strong> setting up silos<\/strong> to store Serbian wheat at the <strong>Suez Canal<\/strong><strong> Economic Zone<\/strong> to act as a distribution center for MENA and West Asia.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Some 8.5k new hotel rooms <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/alborsaanews.com\/2021\/12\/22\/1493239\">are expected<\/a><\/strong><strong> to be added to Egypt\u2019s hospitality sector<\/strong><strong> in 2022<\/strong>, with an expected EGP 9-10.2 bn of investment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Health Ministry is expanding healthcare coverage to another 15 mn people nationwide while the government rolls out its universal health ins. scheme across the country, it said in a statement yesterday.
