<\/a> Swedish scientist Svante P\u00e4\u00e4bo was awarded the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physiology or<\/strong> Medicine<\/strong>, for his seemingly impossible \u201cdiscoveries concerning the genomes of extinct hominins and human evolution,\u201d according to a press release<\/a>. P\u00e4\u00e4bo\u2019s research managed to sequence Neanderthals\u2019 genomes, despite them being extinct, and \u201cmade the sensational discovery of a previously unknown hominin, Denisova.\u201d The discovery and genome sequencing breakthrough help us better understand genetic evolution and have implications for present-day humans\u2019 physiology, the Nobel Assembly notes. The award is worth SEK 10 mn.<\/p>\n

<\/a> Egypt <\/strong>dropped three spots<\/a><\/strong> in Ookla\u2019s monthly Speedtest Global Index to rank 83 out of<\/strong> 182 countries in fixed broadband speed<\/strong>, while our ranking in mobile data speed remained flat m-o-m at 81 out of 140 countries. That\u2019s \u201cway below the global average mobile download speed of 77.7 mbps,\u201d Quartz notes. Our lagging internet speeds is largely because 5G networks have yet to really land in Africa.
