The PE firm is the sole minority shareholder in TotalEnergies Egypt. Its board has until 29 August to decide whether to exercise its preemption rights or allow the sale to go ahead and exit its c. 15.4% stake in the filling station chain, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/ent.news\/2022\/7\/B-Investments-on-Total-EN.pdf\">disclosure to the EGX (pdf)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE BIG STORY ABROAD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s a rather mixed afternoon across the international business press<\/strong>, with no single story dominating the conversation. Among the stories getting play: China reported a drop in factory activity last month as it grappled with fresh covid-19 outbreaks (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/31\/chinas-manufacturing-pmi-in-july-as-covid-flares-up.html\">CNBC<\/a>) while Saudi Arabia recorded its fastest pace of growth since 2011 in 2Q 2022 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-07-31\/saudi-arabia-economy-grows-at-fastest-pace-since-2011-on-oil?srnd=premium-middle-east\">Bloomberg<\/a>).<\/p>\n<hr class=\"grey-line\" \/>\n<p><strong>** CATCH UP QUICK<\/strong> on the top stories from today\u2019s <strong>EnterpriseAM<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adnoc is <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/b9feab20-0529-4fc8-b246-002709a00f77\">buying 50%<\/a><\/strong><strong> of filling station chain TotalEnergies Egypt: <\/strong>The distribution arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has agreed to acquire 50% of TotalEnergies Egypt. Chimera is <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/87891e6c-e1e4-43e2-b979-03cc61acde2a\">offering to pay EGP 1.485 per share<\/a> for up to 90% of Beltone, valuing it at around EGP 690 mn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PMI out on Wednesday:<\/strong> We\u2019ll get an idea of how the private sector fared in July when S&P Global releases its latest purchasing managers\u2019 index (PMI) on Wednesday.
