The regulations were published in the Official Gazette yesterday, after the cabinet <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/c9144d66-b060-44dd-936a-8c9da3a903df\">greenlit them<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Among the important changes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Going solo:<\/strong> Companies are no longer required to be part of a consortium to bid for projects and can bid individually;<\/li>\n<li><strong>The right to appeal:<\/strong> Companies who have their pre-approvals rejected can now appeal the decision;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Taking initiative:<\/strong> Companies can now propose new projects provided they handle the feasibility studies and the financing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>REMEMBER-<\/strong> The government\u2019s plans to reduce state involvement in the economy are expected to see it sell down assets to private sector firms via PPPs. Industries including <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/0f838dc3-3a04-4cc4-bec6-673b35eb99ff\">electric and gas utilities<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/ffe8229b-edb8-487c-ac29-66af689eee1d\">pharma<\/a>, and<a href=\"https:\/\/enterprise.news\/egypt\/en\/news\/story\/265e6474-f42a-4478-be70-6b131b38bf25\">education<\/a> have been pushing for more involvement through a more efficient and flexible PPP framework.
